Inspiration comes within thee
When one takes time for thyself they get to really see
The world is a magnificient place filled with love
Little does anyone relax and rise above
Inspiration comes within thee
I. Am. A. Work. Of. Art.
Carefully sculpted, made in greatness not perfection,
My imperfections make me rae, my rarity makes me beautiful,
Meant to be appreciated for who and what I am,
"I am" is a phrase used world wide.
A term used to define who you are,
but sometimes those labels are taken too far.
In a world full of titles- defining your destiny,
I choose not to submit or be lead astray.
I am...
a soul lit on fire
with passionate dreams
sprinkled with stardust
and kerosine
love filled to the brim
openly ready to lend
too trusting with it
for my own good
I am strong and different.I wonder what other people think.I hear people crying for they can be free.I see tears falling down the cheek.I want to show the true me.I am strong and different.
People who know me know I like to sleep
To me it’s not about the relaxation,
It’s about the dreams –that are so sweet.
I love to dream
I could be a graceful dancer
Or find the cure for cancer
Ego spit
I am drive and alive. Open eyed
Hot headed, chest out. Full of pride.
I am relentless in achieving my goals. Creations.
I was happy, carefree and loved to laugha big grin plastered on my face as i skipped along the pathnothing could stop me from feeling like i was a queen until a few years later when i became a teen
Who wants to be the brightest of them all?
Who wouldn’t want to be?
But existence is an eternal purgatory
Mind like the ocean waves that flow so effortlessly
I am.
I am actions.
I am desires.
I am dreams.
I am thoughts.
I am a fear of stairs.
I am a tainted philosopher who thinks too deeply;
My mind is my only home.
Although it is dark and treacherous, I have no where else to go.
I spends every waking second in deep thought, for I know no other way to be.
There's nothing more better to say
Than the great critics that's in my head
Nothing is gonna stop them, nothing about them is going to end
Perhaps away from any other code of city culture
Congratulations it's a baby girl! It starts from their day one on earth. The 1st true colors you see is pink. Pink walls, pink cloths, pink crib, for god sakes even your dippers are all pink.
I’m seventeen
And I still sleep with a night-light
Cause the dark things
Come out at midnight
Not from under my bed
But from inside my head
Things no one else could imagine
Who am I? You want to know who I am? Well I'll tell you what I'm not
I'm not my brothers
I'm not a jock, an artist, a musician, a druggie, or a brain
I'm not the favorite
I'm not crazy
I'm not perfect
People always tell me they feel safe with me,
always listening so patiently to their personal plea.
Truth is I never asked for this,
I didn't want to be their psychiatrist.
I am
Change;
As waves crest and break,
And leaves burn and fall,
My vision blurs and clears as my path alters according to develpoing dreams.
I am
More than a single word or a catchy phrase,
The pictures kept for her
were the only memory she kept torn
Torn thru those night I see
See her near me
only to feel the distance in my sleep
my heart yearning for my love in which was lost that night
Iam beautiful
I walk past a crowd and they look and stare
Iam beautiful because they wouldn't dare
Iam beautiful
they crack jokes , and laugh because I wasn't built like the others
I am Kayla Aleta Canada. The name Kayla means pure and beloved. Aleta means truthful, derived from Alethia, the Greek goddess of truth. Yeah, my last name’s Canada, but no, I’m not from Canada. My ancestors are actually from Ireland.
Who was I?
At first, I was
Unsure,
Insecure,
A victim of my own self
Having been broken
One too many times.
As they all say,
"Things get better."
Who am I now?
I am from where many do not wish to speak.
I once too was meek then I realized that every obstacle made me, me.
I didn't want anyone to know where I went when I went "home"
I am a beastI wonder what the future holdsI hear my steady heartbeat as I run this raceI see my hard work paying off
I never stay in one place,
I am constantly traveling,
It’s the only thing I truly know.
I don’t know what it’s like to stay in one place,
i am from a line from the flags that shine white, green, and red,
i am known as a identical twin
i am the mac n cheese i make after school
i am the unknown wonders of the world
i keep the secrets of our souls
I am misunderstood
I am confused
I am alone
I am not what I expected
I am parentless
I am struggling
I am trying
I am hard working
I am gaming
I am fishing
I am sleeping
I am not the labels this world has given me.
I am not defined by anyone above or below me.
I am myself simple and clear.
My name means City of Trent,
I think that is pretty stupid.
My name can’t be defined by history
because I am the present.
I am now.
Its meaning is constantly changing,
It will never be just a few words.
I am.
I can.
I will be.
I am a contribution to the future.
I can contribute my future for the lives of many.
I will be there for the lives of many because of my future.
I am from Milford Connecticut, where I was born on November 15th. And from rainy afternoons when 4 year old me, and 6 year old James, danced in the rain until our mom called us in or the sky cleared up.
I'm the type of girl who can find the beauty in everything.
I'm the type of girl who doesn't want to believe in true love.
I am a Amanda
I was born on a tuesday
Now I dance on Tuesday
Every tuesday
I take my shoes, all my shoes
ballet slippers
point shoes
charater heels
jazz shoes
sneakers to walk in
I am a strong independent woman.
I will not be defined by my sex.
I am a smart, intelligent woman.
I will not let my gender determine my intelligence.
I am intelligent because I strive to obtain knowledge.
Where are you from, seems to be the question everyone is dying to know.
Let me just say I'm not from roses and dandelions, nor butterflies and lady bugs.
So where am I from?
God fearing woman but I'm not very religious
But to me it's not about religion but the relationship you have with the spirit
I am who God says I am.
Many call it strange
many call it unique
you'll understand the more you seek
Growing up an african american
you witness many different things
many of us are trapped
Jessica (noun.) A person:female,
Age: You never ask for a women's age, *cough cough* 90's kid *cough cough*
Weight: You never ask for a women's weight, ( but for Tae Kwon Do competitions:125lb)
I am the mother of a child who cannot speak
I am the daughter of a soldier who lives through days like war
I am the lover of a man who has more edges than curves
I am the friend of a woman scarred
I drip to the nearest solid object,
Not too soft to soak through
Yet not to slick that I slide off
I glide to different objects as I try to hold onto to each for a short period of time
(I am often silenced) by the crackle of dead leaves (as they give up) the ghosts beneath my feet,
and every september when the leaves had fallen, leaving trees naked as my snowy kneecaps
On broken words and wasted days
Wandering aimlessly in the dark
The past is the past
What has been set in stone
Can never be undone
Now pick yourself up
And face your fears one by one
I am a magical girl drifting between this loathsome world with my magical powers that are with in me and embedded in my deep memories
I am!
Who am I?
To society, I am a name, a number, a faceless drone.
To friends, I am replacable, I am weird, I am the obnoxious one.
To family, I am the outcast, the outsider, the black sheep.
Growing up silent not knowing when to speak.
Wondering when the pieces will fall into alignment.
Thinking of ways to express my love,
My love that comes from a harden heart.
As my heart softens and emotions show.
I am not the color of my hair (lord knows i've dyed it so many times before anyways).
I am not the color of my skin (I didn’t choose it).
I am not the color of my eyes (they seem more appropriate on my dad’s face anyways).
I am a girl risen from ashes.
An alcoholic mother
And a drug-addict father.
Yeah, you could say the odds were against me.
Constantly being told you'll amount to nothing.
Boy, did I prove them wrong?
I am different
I am interesting
I am loved
I am full of love
I am brown eyes
I am brown hair
I am not skinny
I am not fat
I am beautiful
I am not society
I am an individual
I am not a daughter.
I am a third parent.
I am not a student.
I am a never ending question.
I am not an employee.
I am an asset.
I am not what I appear to be.
If it isn’t my skin, then what shall it be?
The two arms and legs that extend directly from me?
That enable me to run past the wind, and jump the hurdles in front of me.
Who am I?
Am I the mistakes I made,
The wrong decisions I thought were once so cool?
Who am I?
Am I a follower of the "in crowd,"
The coward afraid to speak against the popular kids?
I think, therefore I am
But what do I think?
What am I?
What am I?
I am beautiful
I am free
I am the fearful and wonderful creature that God made me to be
I AM Olivia Stoops
I AM Smart. I AM Determined.
I WONDER what the future holds in store for me.
I HEAR the voices of my family and friends supporting what I do.
i was a large, vast ocean
i had so much life inside of me
and i took that life and created more life
my waves crashed all around
eventually, i fell in love with the sun
I am the rain, I pour out as please on
anyone who's there
I am the the trees, layers and layers of
secrets hiding the core
I am the wind, whispering to anyone
who can hear me
I am the clock that counts the depth of the days,
I am the goodness of your ways,
I am the feather that glides on the wind,
I am the cool mountain air that has thinned,
I am the light that illuminates your heart,
I have a superpower.
It is rare, almost like flying.
You don't see many people flying.
My superpower is words.
I don't have a way with words,
that implies words are a force to be had a way with.
Although I’m not perfect,
I don’t feel the need to change
Being myself is the coolest,
It shouldn’t be seen as lame
I’m smart and I’m funny,
These are the things that make me perfect
Navy scrub top
White scrub pants
White sneakers and my nametag.
I'm in the lab doing my skills, striving for perfection.
I will make it.
Tomorrow starts my internship
One may point out all my imperfections,
and say I'm fat,
but I want to make some corrections.
I believe it's on the inside that comes up to bat
when you're up against someone's infections
Days have been dark
Months have been dark
I have fallen
I have tripped on my faith and soul, my dignity, my mind, my life...
I have cut through every scar on my skin
I don't need to wear makeup. I'm fine the way I am.
I don't need to be perfect. I know beauty is fleeting.
I don't need a lot of friends. I have a few whom are true.
I won't be liked by all. I'm thankful for who I have.
When you pass through the waters, I'll be with you
When you stand against high rivers, they won't sweep over you
When you walk through blazing fires, they will not touch you
i'm the little girl hiding behind her mother's legs
i wonder if i'll be able to fight the monsters off without my dad by my side
Truth
What is it to you?
Facts? What is that?
How- would you KNOW?
You've been TOLD since birth that what is taught is
TRUTH
but who's to say?
It could in fact, be false.
In the past, I was the one that was intelligent.
I was the quiet one.
I was the teacher’s pet.
I was criticized for being a girl on the drumline.
I was the one that played too soft.
I was the liked one.
I am an optimistic soul
I wonder about my past
I hear the time keepers hands
I see my future
I want to start over
I am a prisoner of time
Who knows what lies across the border?
That border which stands so tall,
It keeps us locked inside ourselves.
All of us. Both big and small.
We cannot truly find ourselves until we cross the border.
You should know bullying hurts
It starts with one word, one word you blurt
Fat ugly, thot
These are the words they hear. Did you know you're their biggest fear?
Life is filled with pain
Life is filled with sorrows
Bottled up anger
As it goes deeper and deeper
It's too much to keep
Tears shed everyday
All the nasty commemnts i hear
What is 'here'?
The word I mean
Here
There?
'Here' -What does it mean?
Is it the physical manifestation of self?
Is it the moment in time that all of our cells agree to be contained in space?
The whispers
The side looks
The constant putting down
You’re no good
You’re not cool and never will be
You don’t like me.
Well guess what?
News flash
I don’t like you either.
Bullying starts in your mind and make you feel insecure inside
Bullying is a sin, because we are all God's children within.
Why can't we stop this vicious sin?
Is it, because we are too scared to step in?
Here I stand transparent and tall lacking a true focal point.
Yet barring my emotions that still exsit underneath the latch I once lost.
I feel in the emptiness with a handful of tears as onlookers surround me.
I stand here before you with a smile on my face
trying to determine my place in this race for success.
calling for help
in a world unseen
if there was anyone to be
id like to be me
what if this world was a dream
just when it starts getting good
they suck you back
to the 'real world'
I am an optimist who wants to see the world
I wonder what’s in store for me in the future
I hear about the cultures and lifestyles of indigenous peoples
I see the details that are easily missed by others
I am tonight’s DJ.I am neon strobe lights having a seizurein warehouse storage rooms. My music floods

I began as an idea.
Something someone thought up,
Creative
I am a reality.
A person who breathes,
Alive.
I am a skeptic.
Make me believe what I see,
Imaginary.
I am here
I am there
I am everywhere
Yet I am no where
I see you
And you look through me
I feel bold
You think I'm invisable
Why can't you see me
The way I see you
I am nice and intelligent.
I am sweet and sensitive.
I am the human race.

I am optimistic and determined
I wonder how far away it is from me
I hear loud shouts of hope
I see that this will not be easy
I want to fulfill this dream
I am optimistic and determined
See me at the doorway,
The division between the Dark and the Divine.
Insecurely, I inch toward my Immanuel
While puddles collect at the foot of the Father,
Being bottled up one by one.
My I Am.
Swis, swish, she is air.
Floating and flowing, being a breeze.
Until she takes a stance.
Stomp, stomp, and she is earth.
Homely and humble, embracing every inch of stage.
Until she stares out at you.
