How do you love someone Someone you know at their core   The ins and outs, good and bad You know every thought and desire   You stand in judgement
Panic rages Anxiety attacks Fear abounds    How to make it stop Weather it? Fight it?   Breeding ground for inaction
It is not words It's not only thoughts Less talking required Internal rooting necessary Drive your legs down Let your feet firmly plant

And who is it that cares to think anymore as to whatever became of the former femme fatales- yesterday's darling divas? Those once glittering beauties from the barrios of Denver and L.A.
It took me 17 years  and a miserable day where I was told I was useless to learn that  We've been taught happiness is success

Missed a deadline on scholarship applications                               on college applications Then, that seemlingly dead line from my Dad     "Nobody stays a kid forever," turned into a lifeline
to anyone with an opinion:   ignoring the reality of a situation in favor of the "morality" of a situation is, at best, unwise
It is two am- the limbo between morning and night- and I have to be up in 5 hours max. Can't sleep. All I can think about is time travel 'cause I just watched a movie where they played with time
always follow your ambitions even if you don't know where they may lead. chase your goals and grasp them in your hand like a rope that's pulling you into the life that you want.

Dear Granddaughters,  The only constant we consistently count on is change  Life is like a topographical map  On the surface the ups and downs seem smooth But when your soul walks the uphills they bend and curve

1. It’s okay to cry, don’t let him beat it out of you because if you hold those tears inside, they will eventually drown you. 2.Embrace the parts of you that are fearless-they make you strong. Don’t suppress that, own it.
Sisters-  If a man ever pleads  with you, saying, "It's  what all guys do  to girls," it is  your job to tell him  but one thing: be different.

I traded in my Nike’s for the open mics  Those early Saturday morning 6 o'clocks for them 7s ate my priorities I had to trade them in for

One of the hardest things I do Is talk to you. It doesn't happen until I snap, And all hell breaks loose. I try to tell you, But the words are impossible to find. When I do my best it is dismissed.

I nodd my head sympathetically and listen. So many problems that I connot fix. A big, glaring, "What Should I do?" twists and tangles my thoughts.
The world can be so confusing

I wake up every morning standing in front of a mirror, I take on the habit of wasting time on adding a mask that only seems to be acceptable to society.
The Path

FIRST STANZA: I bet you feel overwhelmed, full of fear and a tad bit of stress. It's your freshman year, in a new school and don't know what to expect.

My 87 grandmother has been through a lot. She’s had five different cancers, Multiple tumors, intestine troubles, and a stroke. She lost all control of her body, time after time. But she never gave up.
I know why you do it.  I know that the numbness and dull moans inside your skull  is near all consuming. Some days pain is the only voice that is shrill enough to break through

In the clearing over yonder, A willow faces west; Branches reaching further; I'm almost there at best; Yes my heart its pointing Northerly; To go or just to stay? My heart it feels the strongest;
Teach us to think. Not on what to think, but on how. Test us not on the knowledge, but on the application. Teaching us to memorize facts and numbers
Remember not to party, And never come home too late; I know this seems kinda corny, But i don't mean to hate   Remember to always study, But not the night before a test;

  One word of advice, or three- Never use adverbs. Think creatively.   The world is listening- Always be honest and open- Plan secretly. It also helps to smile charmingly and move quickly.  
The tears of regret rain down on blue skies, fall from the heavens and crash to demise; promises broken, and little white lies, contribute to darkening clouds on blue skies.
I drag my feet through the halls.  Tired eyes, stress at home. Please do not fall.  Friends turned their backs. Feeling all alone, all I needed was a good smack.  That person, who believes...believes in me. 
There’s nothing more humbling than An elderly man Sitting alone in the park.   His days although limited, They are consistently filled with That wooden bench in the park.  
May the path that you choose stay true to your heart,       For without our beliefs, from truth we do part. May the stars ever watch you and guide you throughout,       For even the wisest may stray from their route.
School is such a juggle, of books, papers, and tests, The hope is that in the end, you will finish best, That you will hold that paper, the key to your new life, The key that will support, your husband or your wife,
Plan the necessary steps to get closer to your goal. Emerge from a bad experience only looking at the situation as a lesson instead of a mistake.
Don't live wishing for wings When legs can take you just as far Live life as a nomad A sailboat without an anchor Life is too short to allow for ordinarity   Remember opened eyes can be used to see
So many different thoughts go running through my mind, I'm on my way to college, a roomy I must find. Senior year is flying by, still so much to do, Disney, Prom, Graduation, just to name a few.
Not enough to compete with the elite. You are Not a failure Not a success Not a competition Barely Above par Above standard Above ordinary
We can't wait for it to get here, but when it's here it quickly goes away. Reality smacks us in the face when we realize we can't hold on to it.
School is out of my budget But the rich love it The poor hate it Because I can't make it The rich laugh at my struggle While the poor support my hustle I live within my means
My father had once told me you'll never know just what you'll be even with the end in sight just before the end of night dont jump too soon, because you'll fall just hang on tight, fight through it all
