Bumped again by crowds she freezes Surprised by people all around She scans the swathe of nameless faces But the one she wants cannot be found.   A small hand tugs upon her sleeve—

Once upon a time, in a tower- tall, far and kept away lived Rapunzel, a secret princess in her day   Her father, the King made a mistake he could not take back
Rapunzel was alone most days and most nights She grew sad and felt no meaning was meant for her Her golden hair grew long and luscious Her once bright purple dress turned cold and frail
they say she stayed in her tower for those cold years out of obedience adherence and requirement but perhaps it was fear the small window a reminder of a small role
“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, look at your hair!” The detective screamed in terror and despair Looking at her sight, the gleam in her eyes Showing the fright of the something despised
Once upon a time,  they begin to say she was so pretty but not so much these days   Rapunzel Rapunzel let down your hair I hear contanstly yanking at my ears

Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in a tower with a witch. No, the witch was not evil- she was just forgetful She adopted a little girl named Repunzel not out of spite,

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair!” Rapunzel cringed inward and sighed with despair. Her hair ladder was good for one thing indeed, For seeing her prince, she did desperately need.

Whether you were told I was stolen or given my story was shared.  The ending never right,  but nobody cared.  Here's what happened, so pay attention.  To this day I'm still unsure
Rapunzel, Rapunzel, He called up to me. I rushed to the window Was this just a dream? Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Please let down your hair. What a strange request! But I send it down there.

Let's say Rapunzel had clinical depression-- it's not far-fetched. Spending a lifetime in a tower with no one but your “Godmother” and your thoughts is sure to harm anyone’s mental health.

Who ever said Once upon a time had to come ahead of the story? It's a pastime.   Maybe Rapunzel never wanted to be saved. She was just a girl. She was never enslaved.

Enter Eugene. Eugene- Why do they make fun at what they don’t understand? Ah! It’s Rapunzel in her tower window, Her golden hair as bright as the Sun.
What makes a princess a princess? Is it her smarts? Or her compassion? Her strong will? Or maybe it’s the way she sings that beckons forest creatures to her whim and call?
  Looking up at chandeliers with broken glass, You lay down as you remember all your time that has passed. Thinking of your prince and how love went through your heart like a beam, But then you awake and realize that was all but a dream.
Here I am Locked up in a tower Not allowed to come down Always wondering how it would be like on the ground Always wondering how it would be like to see the world How does the grass feel between my toes?
