Love
dear the person we thought we could trust,
here's to another night,
of being curled in a ball,
sobbing out my emotions.
you hurt me again.
and it left me confused as to why?

There are a lot of words that society has changed the meaning of, making the word impossible to be achieved. Words like equal and fact.
The fight is strong
The will is weak
We want the same
We want a leader to rise up
We want the war to stop
We see no where to hide
The fight will not stop
We are killed
We are stereotyped
Hold You Down
Night and Day
24 Hours a day
7 Days a week
You will always have me
By your side
No matter what
I will always
Hold You Down
Women are equal as men. Although it takes two to make a baby, babies would not be in this world without women. I do believe the creation of life is a 50-50 job between a man and a woman, but within the job, the roles are split up.
Let your mind
Bloom like a flower
In spring.
May your thoughts
Grow fertile
In soil of encouragement.
Create a field of plenty
Waiting to be harvest

Struggling to pay attention!
"Will my next class have better protection?" I'm in a place where I am expected to excel in every way, but why do I get treated differently everyday?"
Even though people think that they have the right to kill animals,
Even if they think that animals provide us with what we need,
I have a dream that one day equality will mean just that. Marriage is a right for everyone. I have a dream that one day discrimination will no longer exist.
They tell me I’ve changed for the worse. My true beauty grabbed her attention, my personality captured her heart. My eyes caught hers. My mind made her wonder. My past made her hold me closer.

Love for the Anonymous
My unconditional love
Given like a ghost
Weightless, soundless, feeless
I want my little sister to be free of worries.
I want my little brother to hope without fear,
to speak with care,
and to think without hate.
I want to bring children into a world where they can
What would you change?
What would I change?
I'd chage the way peole think,
Get rid of the unnceccasary judgement.
Who needs that?
Certainy not we.
We have the power to learn,
Who are you to judge who I love?
Who I kiss and who I hug?
Why are you judging who puts a smile on my face?
Would you be happier if the one I loved was a different race?
Oh. Thick girls?
They are better than Big girls.
Big girls are like big.
Thick Girls are just better
Said everyone.
Big girl
Big girl
No loves you they said, lose weight they tell me
Brainwash the children of the nation
with songs by Drake
omg becky look at her butt
you only live once
dripping with misogyny
stupid sayings
strangle our minds into believing
Hi, Im Zyra.
Eyes stare, long straight hair
Dark innocent face, Tight coiled hair, stareing back with a glare
First thing they notice is, shes black
Disgusted faces and rude remarks mumbled under their breaths
What is does it mean to have an ideal society?
To be free?
We may live in the land of the free but are we really free?
Who is considered an "American"?
Is an "American" based on whether you and your family were born on this country
or how hard you worked to pass your citizenship test?
There’s something called ignorance in the black community
It replaces the love, care and the unity
The power our race once possessed
It hurts, that you judge
But you’ll never know
I keep it inside
Buried below
All my pain,
And my pride,
He said to me "like lungs without air"
that moment I realized we felt the same hurt
I tried to keep my air but it escaped the minute you left
its as if nothing as moved on.
Time still stands
Smiles still bright
Don't you know we're all the same?
Skin and bones, a heart and a name.
We're living life for a purpose together
So who is to say whether
Any love is right or wrong
We come out weak, but we're trying to be strong
Our body is just a shell
That contains a soul
Much larger than the skin
And the bones
That we are encased in
The soul's size cannot be measured
Because it stretches on forever
They say to sit down,
want me to shut up.
They say I'm too young,
I can't know.
Tell me I'm ignorant,
I'm naive.
But I am experiencing,
right here, right now.
You pay women to dance, while your love is at home.
Two Viking babies asking when daddy is coming home.
How familiar is my name,
For daddy’s the one to blame...
Your ice cold look is really just a new flame.
I am an African American, Truth Be Told. Riding in a car in a nice neighborhood on my way home, Truth Be Told. Stopped, harassed, frightened by the local police because I was in a "suspicous" car, Truth Be Told.
Everyday, every hour, every way I turn reminds me about
the days, the ways, the people who paved
this path so I can walk on
I wish on broken stars...
'cause those bright ones give off too much light,
too much light can be blinding and if i remember correctly
becoming blind was never on my bucket list so,
I settle for the dim ones instead.
Look at all these presidents,
They're all the same kind of gentlemen.
Wearing their suits and ties.
I wonder where are their wives.
Sitting at home?
Perhaps, I don't know
Because they can't tag along.

Do you see what I see?
When is ee this reflection looking back at me.
I see a soul yourning for equality cause in reality, I'm more than who you thought I'd be.
See my ancesters paved the way so I could lead.
Life is peachy, but its's got a little fuzz
the inside is sweet but there's no hidding what's above
pick it up, set it back down, show it no love
Looking only at the surface, not what it consist of
Equal people, same in hand and face,
but outcast quickly when not the chosen race.
Die for beliefs that should self explain,
that treatment you beg for, hope to gain.
Scream and battle with tooth and fist,
Civil rights are right, right?
Yes, indeed they are right,
because it say so in the phrase,
don't have an eyebrow to raise,
because civil rights are right.
Discrimination. We all thought that was gone after the Civil Rights movement.
However, today's generation faces a new type of discrimination.
That discrimination is on who you can love.
We say equal opportunity for all,
Chained down with metal unseen by the naked human eye
We were a mass paradox
Living in a country of freedom and liberty
But yet, not fully free
Pain
Gain?
The innocent slain
They were treated like dirt
Whether they wore pants or a skirt
They were washed away like muck
And hauled away in big trucks
To move on is to grow;
We must take this as fact.
To see is to know;
We mustn't think only after we act.
Can we change the way we’re living before it consumes and devours all that contains meaning within us?
