His name was Tony and he lived in the slums,
Worked at an Italian Deli with a lot of other bums.
He was orphaned but found a family,
Working at the local cat shelter just around the corner.
BANG! POW! KABOOM!
Words exclaiming from
fragile comic book pages.
wrapped in cape
much too large,
although the tag claims “one size fits all”.
Mind wondering, dreaming
-SuperHero-
my door breaks down
then enters a burly man with a frown
he says he was just flying through town
but I know he was just breaking houses down
he says hes a superhero but he wears a frown
She walks through her house with a booze in hand,Nobody knows the pain behind her back.Wearing the same clothes she wore every day,She hides the bruises with leather and jeans. A dark-haired beauty in a big big world,Nobody knows who she truly is.
Superheros have capes
Power of immortals
Strength of the ribs,
Protecting a torso
Humans have hands
Used like rubber
Hard and misused
But secures like a lover
Thats why I love her
Quondam ille erat nomen cum Ace ei qui non fuit-
Vir circumscribere poesem sed homo qui fuit potens.
Is me tam visitat. Quom is fecerat ille dixit, “Ace sum.”
Once upon a time, queerness was considered a crime
Rainbows and queer knowledge was forbidden
However, no one saw what was coming at the time
A queer teen did not expect what was about to be given
Whether it is sooner or later, people will reveal their true colors. Eventually, the sparkling gleam of fairytales and new beginnings fades into the dark enchanted woods of reality. Imperfections. Losses. Disappointments. Failures.
As children, the world seemed so endless.
Envious of its depth we ran to see it all-
our oversized hearts didn’t know how to fall,
so we took leap after leap of faith.
We raced,
When I was three years old,
And admittedly, not yet very bold,
I was given a pink Powerpuff Girls pillow by my parents to hold,
It would give me magic powers too I was told,
“Superhero”

From the time that we are little we are serenaded with stories of superheroes,
Sweeping in to save the day with their powers and their fancy capes
Superheroes are not those in capes
They are the ones in drapes
Covered in rags
They suffer and have to go day to day
Not knowing if they will live or die
Whether they will eat, drink
Scorn superhero you are
Did you have to take your love so far ?
Im sick with out you, but I know that's best.
Everysuperhero some how needs a rest.
Your rest has been a little long and I feel like im here all alone
Here we are, wounded and scared.
With fear in our hearts and confidence in our eyes we run for cover as the bullets fly by.
Flash back to a young lad on the living room floor, as his eyes lit up at the commercial he adored.
When I grow up I want to have the best job in the world
I'm not sure what that job is but I know what it entails
Fast pace, little stress
Happy co-workers who can take a joke, or 10
I will express my creative mind
We call you a hero not because of your shiny hats, or your golden suits.
We call you heroes because you watch the backs of all your recruits;
My parents said my desired career was not fit for this world.
They said I will not make enough money to live.
I want to change the world.
I want to BE somebody.
Do they not understand?
I'm not a hero,
but i can save you from feeling worthless.
I'm not a hero,
but i have the power to make you feel important.
I'm not a hero,
but i can save you when you fall.
I'm not a hero,
I get in the way
Of planes and birds flying at me
They forgot
To save the day
And the people scream
And tremble watching their walls
Disintegrate
In a fragile state
Dear Dad
It wasn’t supposed to be this way
I was supposed to hug you one more time
Be able to look at you face so long it was memorized
I should have been able to have your arms wrapped around me
We always think of super heros
As saving lives and beating foes
They wear capes and uniforms and
Have the powers of storms
