Falling from Memory

Sat, 01/23/2016 - 23:59 -- junopig

will They find the body?

will She care?

Finally.

I can't get the smell out of my head

The lights dance, faltering

like they did over the shattered glass

no more safety to be found in that battered wreck

but a belt saved me

that last time

           the last time

                     the last goodbye

whispered from a body caressed and battered by the embrace of the cold dark

the Truth in remembering

She cried it as I stumbled out this door this morning

Will she love again tomorrow?

Love the next day and the new day? And the same

foods and music and laughter and love. Will she love?

Do you love?

Can you-
