Humpty Dumpty fell.
Off a wall.
He's an egg.
He cracked.
Broke.
He probably broke inside, too.
And he smiled.
He couldn't get fixed.
He got fixed a bit on the outside, though.

They work hard every day to break you
So you have nothing left to go back to
Only forward
Remember
When we first met
Darkness like a cloud
Suffocating me with a chain.
A prisoner
With an unknown sentence.
You stepped in then,
12:19 // smile.
You said "Hello"
Have you ever stood there?
In the morning dew
watching the rays of gentle gold
creep their way along the onyx sky.
Listening to the murmur of the leaves
I am constantly bouncing,
From one moment to another,
Some happy, some not.
I am constantly living,
From one day to another,
Some enjoyable, some not.
I am constantly smiling,
Perfume
wore brave faces
damp with worry.
During familiar hugs
she cried.
Years of cologne

That Girl
I’m the girl with the sunny side smile
The girl with the head thrown back laughing.
I’m the girl with the fake identity
The girl with the plastered on grin.
You're beauty is like starlight, but more like the spaces in betweenBecause you're so much more than just a pretty faceYou're so much more than the precious pearls you hide behind

People ask why
People aks how
But here,
in my own words
is how
I
smile
Sunshine after a stormy day
The smell of grass once the sun comes to play
My eyes are tear-filled
My head is spinning
My soul feels crippled
But the sunshine is coming
I take a step into the wilderness
of busy streets and bustling lives
It comes out of nowhere
Bright smiles
Teasing grins
Fond pats on the head
Muttered words
And it rings out
Sweet and gaily
Bells on the wind
Jokes prance around
Eyes lit up
Today was different,
I didn’t feel like I was drowning
In a sea of my own tears.
The cold grip of shackles
That encompassed me
No longer bound me
To regret or remorse.
I lie
to myself
to be
good
to my self.
I'll say:
I'm going
for a 5 minute walk
NOW!

An hour later

The rain, the thunder
the dirt and grass beneath my feet
The swoosh of my hand as I shoo
the fly that interrupts me as I
lick the barbecue sauce off my fingers
on that sunny Fourth of July
Beautiful girl
Why are you crying?
Shouldn't beautiful girls
Be smiling?
Are not happy girls
the prettiest?
I smile in hope they will stop staring.
I smile in hope that they will see the beauty I see when I look in the mirror.
I smile in hope to make someone's day.
In this world of difficultyI was struggling with lifeI was bothered physicallyBut I kept a smile.
It took me awhileTo express my problemsBut I didn't forget to smile

She's the captain of numerous teams,
She has a multitude of friends,
Hair always in place,
Mascara never running.
She walks home alone.
I will smile at everything.
Happiness, sadness, seriousness, everything that I can.
I can't help but to hide myself.
Why do I do such a thing? I find it as a survival tactic for myself.

She gallops toward me.
I watch transfixed as her flaxen mane is grabbed
By the invisible fingers of the wind.
She whinnies with sheer delight at seeing me.
As I'm in the round pen preparing to ride
She dances left to right, so I can not get on
As if her steps aside gave her the chance to hide
I finally got on, and we headed towards the lawn

It Starts With Cherries
Everything starts with cherries you see,
Those wonderfully sweet things
They made a smile appear on your face
But it wasn’t just because of their taste
