There is a Word

Come here, and lend your ear.

For there is a word

That you really must hear.

If not, life would be unassured.

So listen, please, I ask a favor.

This word, it holds the world.

It existed in the beginning, still it does savor.

No other can bear the power it unfurled.

Are you ready to hear it?

I tell you, it’s a word and name together.

It wipes every tear, and sadness it omits.

In mighty tones, it thunders forever.

It calls you by name.

It lightens the sky.

Across the globe it has its fame.

I’m serious, I cannot lie.

The word was flesh,

The word is life,

The word has always been love, refreshed.

And Jesus will be the word amidst the strife.
