You want me to feel broken Alone, nowhere to go I’ve heard the blades you’ve spoken I have the scars to show   But I won’t stand by complacent Won’t let you spread your hate

I think I paint because of fear of the abstract. I think I have fear, and there it is, Blossoming in my behaivor.   Like a flower peddle swayed by the wind, I begin my life when many will end.
Picture It   If a picture is worth more than a thousand words, What is the worth of a single word alone?  
Searching for a single grain of sand along beaches of shattered glass, My tongue trips over bright blue marbles, trying desperately to play jacks.
Come here, and lend your ear. For there is a word That you really must hear. If not, life would be unassured. So listen, please, I ask a favor.

NOTE: Before I continue, I want to infom my audience that my poem was written after seeing my father for the first time in 9 years...  
When I first met the lovely written word,  Fantastic worlds in my mind's eye arose. With lyric sounds, imagination stirred, And began shaping stories to compose.   I flew, away from school and far beyond
This one is for the kids with no more hope  No more purpose  Broken smiles  Shattered teeth    The kids who fall short of their dreams so closely  they scrape them with their fingertips 
It's all I have. It's what separates me. I live by mine. That's how you measure yourself as a man. I keep my word and those I associate myself with keep theirs. Or they don't stay around.
Eyes that  see Ears that hear  We read His Word; We hear His voice I find in Him my rest.

Little did you know when our world "Leaders" meet to talk, they talk not about how to create peace but strategies for war.
Mama's house smells of onions and garlic. Chicken is probably dissolving into a large pot of pinto beans, collards gurgling under a nearby lid.

The world is so weird now, I always ask myself the obvious things. Why is this difficult? Or how could you be so sane?
I've grown up around strong women. To be specific, I've been surrounded by strong black women. That doesnt make me strong though  This made it hard for me to find myself. I wanted to be like them 
God took a breath... And uttered the syllables That bound Spirit to flesh. And God became man. Enfleshed and embodied in a body God became man, that with men He could dwell.

Who am I? Who am I to look her in the face and say “I’m fine. No, really it’s okay.”   When really I’m screaming inside.
The worst thing to know is when the words won’t come. What is poetry? Once it was the music of your soul, and now there is naught but silence. You struggle with your collection of words,
Word Jamming. Those were the first two words that popped into my head. Hmph.
Every time I try to speak, someone claims they can't hear me. I hear it often, SPEAK UP! When these two words are spoken, I tend to talk softer.
Waking up, rubbing the crust out of my eyes to realize, where i reside is a land on its demise I then reflect on I, surrounded by subsidized housing and homeless vets, and fiends who get cocaine wasted by the ounces
Holy waters of the United States, Wash away the cherry blood on his hands, My voice calls out like David's precious lamb, So lost in the valley of death and hate.
