At times of utter chaos,

the mind sleeps.

Hiding behind a closure,

until vulnerable no more.

And days later,

after closure, comes

a newfound fascination-

in what exactly happened.

and a contant replay of the moment,

down on both knees,

weeping, screaming-

let me go-

pools of mud-

pale faces-

and I'm left by the end of it all;

wasting away in the shadows of the night.
