She has arrived, she’s beautiful, scarred, humbled, and wise.
Most of all this woman is alive.
She walks with a hint of pride, but not too proud to admit her missteps.
Mistakes and lessons dance in harmony a 2-step.
Foggy haze, cloudy days, rain drizzled from the sky.
Todays a good day, no need to get caught up in the why’s.
I’m grateful for this day, yesterday, and I pray to see tomorrow.
I should not fear it, but it's inevitable,
The image of I standing with my brand that has reached beyond my expectations
The less I believe the more it becomes debatable.
I'm afraid of heights, but that's not all.
There are no ropes in case I fall.
Now that I'm an adult it seems,
the only escape from anxiety is in my dreams.
I would love to wake up one day,
Oh how I could certainly tellThe wildest of talesOf attempts triedAnd those that failed
Of the screech…Of the song,Of the melody thusWhat came nextOf ambition and lust
The thought that counts
I hold this dear
Regardless the gift
The intent is clear
Loving someone, has no price
It's unconditional
All-powerful and mighty one,
you sit so highly on your throne.
authoritative over each beat, each flow.
Oh king forever,
you are the river of life,
sustaining each cell, each breath, each pulse.
Oh yes
Everybody likes to Win.
Everyone like the Glory.
But it’s ok to lose too.
By losing you learn an important trait,
Humility
"Anger, Wisdom, Regret, Pain,
They think my life is just a game
I can't stand another minute
But if I fold now I'll be defeated
Their torture stings like a thousand knives
But I can't trust these awful lies
Kindness should be easy,
love should have no end.
Forgiveness should be effortless
especially to a friend.
Good should be our moral guide
Faith should concur fear
Integrity should be infinite
Today, I walked in your shoes, I walked a mile
It was unpleasant, for all the memories you shared
I wondered at the weight, a heavy burden to bear
Please scorn not the poet
For the rhymes too slanted,
For syllables miscounted,
For content hard to read.
Did our history keep
Shakespeare’s first love sonnet?
Virgil’s practice poems?
(Based on a dream I once had)
Darkness, sustained darkness. Silence at first as well, but that doesn't last as long.
Sitting alone on the grass late one night
Admiring the starry sky shining so bright
I could not help but be in awe of my God
Who created the heavens and man out of sod
Better practice humility. That is what I would change.
Every person that you meet in this life knows something
that you don't; learn from them. Be willing to acknowledge
I'm a humble person,
Which means I like to serve others
So when I see you crying on the street,
Nothing is about me.
I wanna serve
Rather than be served
The triumph of the meek will beLoud. Crowds of complex hearts pulledOut of dying chests, vests of steel thrown off, meltedDown and welded into cymbals and trombones.The groans and creaks of grief will cease;
The partridge swings happily in the tree,
For some reason it cannot see,
The death day is drawing near,
And the partridge doesn't show fear,
A cat awaits from afar,
Your words sound as sweet as the morning dew
and yet thy words play with my gentle heart
too innocent to unveil what flew through
thy humbling failures cast us apart
A small bird I am doth sing my tune
Father give me the humble things
Take away my pride
For I am Your child Lord
And a part of Your Bride.
And pride has no place here.
Give me no duty that would exalt me high
No poem for people to view me by
Lord grant me all the humble things
The silly little humble things,
The things that no one else will see
And no one else will do.
Give me the least of these
And help, I humbly beg please
Sitting in class,
I am the last
To leave the room.
Taking my test
(I know I'm best)
Mustn't assume
Perfection's mine
(I'm doing fine,
Savoring now
Knowing all things)
Humility is a precious infant
that requires attention in order to thrive.
Upon first encounter, it is fair and sweet,
Its innocence and naivety, charming.
Over an extended period, the adorable quality falters;
Strength is being weak, but continuing to walk.
It’s carrying on when everyone says you don’t have to.
It’s stepping up to the plate,
standing up to the man,
and buckling down when times get rough.
(The video is slightly different that what is written)
To have humility is to think less
Of ourselves ‘cause we are God’s creation
Red, yellow, black, white, tell that to the press
For the races received much damnation.
Injustice is still there we need prayers
When we climb off that pedestal that we so often erect in our honor...
When we pause to consider the convictions of those around us even when they conflict with our own...
