Study, Study it’s all you do for 12 years
With your head in textbooks, super uncool
Taking notes while the rest of the world disappears
All times is spend on school
In late nights, through
bleary eyes and trembling hands
I find freedom.
The looming grade lost
its gravity long ago, along with
junior year.
Without letters or one-hundreds,
Its not just a grade,
It is my future.
No more time to delay,
I need to make a choice.
My book flys open!
I skim the page-
Words are written
down on a page.
Overconfident and unstructured,
Never having been pushed to my limit,
Thinking about my potential future,
And all that came with it.
On the rocks within a course in which I had it all,
5- Wake up, Start The Show
7- Get Up, Get Ready, Start Class
5- Pull Lines, Feel the Flow.
Am I failing?
I'm probably failing.
Did I pass?
Will you look for me?
No wait don't look.
I'm not ready.
Are you sure?
Should I go talk to her?
Did you say I got an A?
They say I'm crazy, I'm all alone
But thats not true, they just don't know
That while they party, drink and dope
I think of my future with excess hope
Where I can travel, near and far
When I dared to finally take my own steps,
and when I dared to go my own direction,
I found and learned about myself without the intention.
I left my home country and studied abroad
I miss being a kid when life was fun
Now all I am is on the run
Trying to hustle and work to come up with that tuition money
As I pursue my career goals, I work my hands until they bleed,
For some extra cash so you see.
As I take care of a cancerous parent,
My needs often go unapparent.
I do not mind; after all, what are families for?
Miss Doctor Professor Mrs. Teacher Mister,
Can I show you how much your class means to me
20 years from now?
Let me get up and walk out the door
Because every second that hangs himself, by his big red hand,
BOOM!
The moment you've been waiting for, maybe not
but whether you're ready you must show what you got
do what you can while your fingers are hot
truth is, you know a whole lot
Work, study, sleep,
work, study, sleep.
I have no time
to finish a rhyme,
to busy am I
trying to get by
With a monstrous load of Composition.
Work, study, sleep
I wrote with my fingertips across his flesh toned skin with the permanent ink of my memory.Memorizing and underlining the important parts of him.Freckles speckled across the bridge of his nose,
