Funny thing about a certain hot button issue,
is people only listen when it comes time to miss you.
When they can no longer dismiss you; the latter is a hero.
Exploiting their favoritism to avoid the fear of
Yes I have more melanin then others
But does that mean I have to get treated like a felon
Put under the stereotype that all we eat is watermelon
And convinced the only way we can talk is through yellin
I am fresh off the boat but I was born here and I'm looking for a place with my type of acceptance
Of a girl with an afro and a bindilost and confused a muse to racists
Upon the rising sun, prone to an inescapable curse
Standing amongst many, who bore this malicious fate
Upon thy first breath, came the wicked intentions of many
Ill and suffering, from what is known as destiny

get some food for your empty stomach and pay
with your own money that you worked so hard
for and, oh my, someone put a hand on you.
I am a black teen
living in a community of depair and poverty
Growing up in a household of 3
Foodstamps wasnt really supporting me
Finacially money really wasnt coming my way
Never be afraid to live
Do not be afraird of what you have never did
Be an adult but laugh as a kid
Go On.
Never let other hold you back
Do not your situations stack
Use your third eye.
Be socially aware, yet not too socially aware.
Accept your history, although no one else will.
