shots fired

vanilla mixed with chocolate

what do you get

a lighter shade of brown

it seems like brown is the color to hate

pasty white or burnt orange

give it just a little more time-

time to white wash america

the original goal

until it was ruined by slavery

the original sin

and now it's slavery of the mind

and we're doing the time

so

bang bang shots fired

it only takes 6, 5, 4,3,2,1 bullets to kill

grey, martin, brown

the list goes on

we must not sit in silence

why all the violence

because bang bang shots fired

acting against the actions of a nation turned against us

just as we were starting to blend in

what's happening to our men

is this preplanned

get rid of the men we like your women

they're ugly but strong and can reproduce

nappy hair big lips

bang bang shots fired

identity crisis

we hate our own skin

chemicals and heat to damage the natural curl pattern we were given

wearing something else to cover it

not to say this applies to all women

but why are we spreading hate

instead of uplifting

groiwng together as a people

becoming educated and putting an end to the stereotypes

a change in mindset is what's needed

so it's bang bang shots fired

we're reclaiming our words or racial slurs

no sorry you may not use it

we're reclaiming our beauty

short or long

kinky or curly

our hair is beautiful

bang bang shots fired

it only takes 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

words to heal

put your hand in mine and together we can make it

for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

and it's bang bang shots fired

but we're putting on our bullet proof vests and finally standing up, showing out, trying to continue the job that our ancestors started
