School.

As I have gotten older,

school has become

less

and

less

significant for me.

I can hear the information

but I no longer get the feeling

that I did when I was younger.

When I am given new data

my eyes no longer widen

like they did

when my feet barely reached the floor.

I cannot feel my mind

light up at the sound of new ideas,

or my hands fidget with my pencil

as I try to grasp at a new concept.

I used to desperately search everyday,

hoping to find even the smallest proof

of that state of mind

but now I know

where my curiosity is.

It has been taken from my mind,

stolen by the fucked up system

we call school.
