Promise Me

You promised me

Wonderful, glorious things.

You promised me

A white house,

With not-blue shutters,

A pond out front,

And horses in the back

You promised me

A late spring wedding,

In your beautiful church,

With rose gold decorations,

And an outdoor reception.

You promised me

Two children,

A boy and a girl,

With names picked out,

And a dog for them too

You promised me

Wonderful, glorious things,

A life to look forward to,

But most importantly

You promised me you wouldn't leave

You broke all of your promises

And you broke me as well
