Lost Twice

It happened twice.

I let myself believe.

I thought that I might matter.

But what I didn’t see.

I loved and lost,

And was broken eternally.

The first was dark and pained,

So similar to me.

She took away the lonely,

Because misery loves company

And I was overtaken.

She left me when I needed her,

And broke my sanity.

The second one was light,

She came in and saved me.

She took away my pain,

And repaired my sanity.

But then she left too,

And now I’m back to broken.

Both of them moved on,

And I’m chained to my pain.
