The Little Girl in the Yellow Dress
Location
I dreamed a dream of a little girl in a yellow dress
She was dancing with the white roses
Her feet running gaily Her arms twirling as if she was a ballerina
She turned to smile at me….
But then instead of smile, her face grew sad
Tears escaped from her bright blue eyes
She reached down to her tender foot
And pulled out a sharp thorn
Crimson blood drips from where the thorn pierced
Empathy floods in my chest
For the little girl in the yellow dress
Has suffered from the asperity of the world
And once you endure that bitterness
You can never blissfully dance with the white roses
Again
