A fallen leaf,

An empty street,

Cool air in my chest,

It’s the time of the year I like best,

Silence all around,

No animals to make any sound,

Time seems to stand still,

I see candles in a window sill,

I love the scent of cinnamon apple spice,

And how the colors look so nice,

Orange, yellow, and red,

Who knew leaves looked so pretty dead?

The season makes me smile,

Makes me happy for a long while,

I don’t know what the meaning of life is,

But happiness is this;

The time between sun and snow,

When nature’s true colors show,

It’s everything about fall,

I find happiness in it all.
