Invisible

Location

I know it's hard to hear the constant advances of suitors,

to hear their cat calls day in and out.

I know it is

At least I'm sure it is.

But that doesn't stop me from wondering what it is like to be noticed

heard

seen

felt.

To get a compliment or a "compliment" from someone

For someone to ask me to laugh

or give them a smile.

To have someone hold the elevator doors open

or buy me a drink when I'm alone.

To apologize when they bump into me on the street

or not bump into me at all.

I'm thankful that I don't have to worry about getting attacked in a parking garage or on the street.

But that doesn't stop me from wondering what it is like to have that fear and not just be
