Claim the Saved
Gentrification gettin’ into this nation;
Historically segregation, Killin’ kids, lit in flames and;
Rioting makes it hasten, and racists make the hatred;
It’s wicked and dangerous, we livin’ in hades;
No compassion or passion in our atoms in lavish;
Where’s the past in our madness, man the rap is just savage;
Don’t speak after the branded when you can’t understand it;
No man can unravel your travels in the gravel, you stranded;
My manic panic can brandish fanatic addicts and actives.
I’m drunk on God’s love, and I need him tonight;
If he don’t show up, I’ll be screamin’ with fright;
He’s all I got, but the demons want fights;
When I hit them with scripture, they beam off in flight.
Listen to me when I cry aloud to the Lord;
Liftin’ my voice, I beg for mercy, down in His court;
I tell Him my complaint, and my trouble, shrouded in storm;
My spirit grows faint, watch over my way, surround my heart more.
In the path where I walk, people have hidden a snare for me;
Look, there’s no one at my right hand, no one cares for me;
I cry to you, Lord, my portion in the living land, my therapy;
Rescue me, my enemies are too strong, with clarity.
Set me free from this prison, so that I may praise your name;
The righteous will gather because your goodness raised the stakes;
You brought me to still water, and I will bask in your grace amazed;
You restore my soul, so now my goal is to claim the saved.
