There's much to do,
with little time.
There's much to change,
Where do I stand?
What can I do?
What should I do?
Maybe something,
Maybe anything.
Days are passing,
Once upon a time,
There was a little chicken,
Who thought life was sublime,
Till with fear he was stricken
He asked his mother,
“Where are you going?”
“Why are you leaving?”
They all want my autograph
but they don't know how I write it
The things I read behind closed doors
made me who I am-
but how can I be what I have read if I cannot speak out loud?
What is society
To you and me?
No,
What is society?
You and me.
Socius, societas, society.
Comrade, friend, ally.
How far we have come.
I read somewhere that every 16 minutes
give or take a few seconds
a suicide is commited.
All I hear is silence
All I see is silence
All I feel is silence
Silence in the wake of tragedy
America the great is what they sayWhere my children are shot down every dayWhen all they want to do is playAmerica the great what does this mean?
Pouding, pouding, pounding away
The remains of a once loved city
Crumbling away under them
They don't even see
Eyes hopeful enough to imagine a light at the end
Ways of fixing what they've destroyed
Mechanics
English is not enough
Sentiment cannot be bound by syntax
Punctuation cannot portray passion
Grammar cannot grant the grieving soul grace
Words
Words are a well to a worn world
What is the purpose of having a voice that we are too afraid to use
What is the point of speaking out loud
When our words are not worthy to be heard
How can we complain About the state of human life
As life goes on, and we get older,
Our actions seem to be bolder.
I look back onto my past,
Wondering how large is the shadow I have cast.
I have moved a few people to action,
For things that they believed in.
