YADOT, I YURRB A PRETTY KITTY
WALK FROM FFO A FINGER, AS I BEND MEHT BACKWARDS
OT SAY
"You're pretty!"
CUTE GNIHCTIB
HER PAWS, A SOFT EFINK SKNIS OTNI EHT YRRUF HOLDER
I jump up from the bed with this one thought upon my mind
"I'm hungry"! So I run straight to the fridge to make a find
The remnants of a snack from late last night are in the sink
So many church steeplesSo much crimeSo many hungryThree jobs and no restPreacher says give to meYou will be blessedNo religionJust church
For morning’s breakfast I prepare a snack
Of half a poppy covered bagel, so
I can survive the day. And then, I lack
The most important part: cream cheese, oh no!
Right now I feel like life is in a pickle.
I just ate my last pop sickle.
That is right, I don't have a single Otter Pop left to my name.
Nobody will understand my pain.
I cannot settle my craving with an ice cube.
It’s 5AM
and you’re crying
(again).
You’ve climbed,
into my bed,
onto my chest.
You put that cute face in front of mine,
so close,
your whiskers poke
I can say I've been around
Sometimes it seems like I can't lift a pound
You can't hold me down
I know you can't handle me now
I am a strong woman raised by a strong woman
Never houseless but always homeless,
Music managed to provide a sanctuary
Even if it is temporary.
Always hungry but full off of food for thought, music was always nourishing.
Cheeks sallow,
belly hollow,
I thought I heard you say "Frido-lay"
Oh, I was so happy.
But then I realized you said "triolet".
I thought I heard you say "Frido-lay".
You said write a poem, I said, " Oh, okay."
Now I feel so sappy.
Chunky, Munchy, Crunchy,
Peanut Butter or Chocolate Chip,
It can be Thick, Thin or Crumbly,
Its what Everyone like to eat.
It could be round or squared,
Sometimes Big or sometimes small;
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I like bacon
More than I like you
Tulips are pink
Marigolds are yellow
Don't you dare
Touch my jello
My dream job is not too popular, but one that completes me.
To feed the poor, clothe the naked, share some water if need be.
It calls me when I see the homeless.
It calls me when I feel hungry.
I'm hungry for pork rinds
I smell it
I have to buy them
tomorrow
or a cake
I graduated today
and I'm hungry
hungry for money, for love, for friendship
experiences
a job
It's a Wednesday in November
And I'm struggling to keep my eyes open
I must look a mess
My eyes are droopy
And my hair is unbrushed
I'll admit, I didn't try at all this morning
In, out, in and out of my mouth.
I know you're thinkin' dirty,
but those are thoughts
you need to ditch,
because the truth is I'm just
eating a juicy sandwich.
Life; funny as it may be; daring as it should
Could not compare to this, or so it would
All problems faced to the majority as a whole
3 minutes without oxygen
too deep underwater to
wonder if I can get to the surface
3 hours without shelter
tooth chatteringly cold and I
want to go home
3 days without water
Why is my mommy dead?
I nudge her but she won't wake up,
Is it beacuse she gives us all the food?
People walk by but no one helps us,
I paw at my mommy meowing,
Im hungry but no one is helping us,
Behind these glasses my mind growls - full of emptiness - like my stomach. Not fed. A mosquito trapped in a window. My mind trapped in a tiger's cage. Gnawed, ripped.
Is this what life is?
Only the known ones
Only the pure ones
Can make it anywhere
Only the divine ones
Only the heavenly beings
Are carried on feathery wings
To the heights of riches
We act meticulous.
We think mysterious.
We walk alone.
We're never done.
We become lazy.
We get hungry.
We never cry.
We never die.
Come to me, oh child of the green.
You're ways are cruel and mean.
And I, the beast, am calling you home.
To the depths of darkness unseen.
