My Parents fled from Iraq
To the great U.S of A
Seeking Religous freedoms, while keeping Saddam at bay
Michigan is where they settled
Had children who grew and mettled
I gazed in awe at the Great Lakes
As I sat in my chair one evening fair, with my family sitting there without a care.
I heard a blare from Satan's layer, to come and snare my right to heir.
My family heard it too, what to do? is this a demon come for you?
Bombs everywhere, missiles left and right, clenching my gun in my hand so tight. Side versus side, so scared but I will never show it, America the Brave, proud and heroic.
"First step's so called education, next we bring assimilation.
We keep you passified so you will follow"
Send out the soldiers & fill up the prisons, Stand in line for superficial pleasures
The men are being slaughtered
The women being tortured
Oh God, My God, where are you?
To save them from this fate?
The 'N' marks the houses
Of those who praise your name.
You're a note sent from heaven,
To this battle field in hell.
I wish I could kiss you here
and the worries farewell.
Every letter written carefully
By a steady hand in ink.
Bang! Bang! Like the shot heard around the world
Another life lost on the curb.
Once more, an innocent life unfurled.
