The Commute
It was December 1st 2014 My heart was pounding my skin was crawling Your daddy was crying Your nani was smiling Your auntie was laughing The doctor storming The words "push his crowing"
  Mother always beats the sun up
My grandpa was a coal miner in 1923 living in a land eroded to dust, sweating until black paste stained his face
If I had the power to change only one thing I would know the answer without having to think I would stop all the innocent from being slaughtered Their blood staining the world with red
It's Not About Whether Or Not You Like The Choice Of Working A 9-5, It's About The Choice You Have To Make In Order To Provide, Some People Have To Teach Classrooms, Some People Have To Clean Bathrooms.  
His heavy eyes reflect the ever growing burden he carries upon his shoulders the weight only multiplies and the job is never done overworked and under appreciated 
When fair and strict as time could be You bite your lip so strenuously. Shove and pull, lurch and drop Your arms thrash like a juggernaut 'Til the whistle blows. Your existence is naught
Because the American Dream is hardly a dream Working two jobs, a nightmare it seems Bills upon bills, taxes upon taxes, Living middle class, far from the wealthy status.
