You will know I love you

You will know I love you when my eyes can’t stand to glance away from your face

You will know I love you when I laugh even at the smallest quip to cross your lips

You will know I love you when I make excuses just to be near you

When my hands wander aimlessly, incapable of being still

When I smile though there’s no reason to smile.

When I text you

At night

In the morning

During work

After work

Even before you have had chance to reply

You will know I love you because I will tell you

My heart cannot keep secrets

He does not know how to whisper

I wear my heart on my sleeve

And in my eyes

And in my hands

And on my lips

You will know I love you when I share him with you

When I share my pain

My hurt

My fear

You will know I love you when you see me cry

I may not know love yet

I may never know what it means to love

Or how to really feel love

But I do know

That you will know I love you
