wonder
I look at you
and I cannot believe
that you don't know
can't feel
my depth of love,
cannot reach your
hand inside my heart
and pull yourself out.
I wonder feverishly
if I reside within
yours.
I look around and
it's dark but the
walls do not pound;
I know the answer
already but far
away do I push it
and wait
for some sign
that you have
let me in.
This continues
for as long as I
can bear it
and longer
until my lungs
are full of black
ink and yours of
my blood.
You are happy
and free but
I drown with
a smile because
you smile.
