What is Needed

Every time I turn on the news, a family, a person, a life is bruised. No one feels the hate like a young boy or young girl, when they’ve lost all they had in this wicked world. One day there’s a shooting, the next a great storm. Now a plane’s gone, leaving so many families torn. I ask dear Lord above that the next time I look, not a thing on this big world has been taken and shook. I can’t see another broken child, woman, or man. Young, old, black, white…gay, straight, queer, or uptight. It doesn’t matter who we are, or what we’ve done, this suffering in the world needs to be undone.

Too many people crying, too many children dying. Today, my only wish—a world not like this.
