Walking in Concrete
One step forward
Two steps back
Is this ever true
One move closer
Two backtracks
Creates new paths for you
One truth found
Two lies learned
Shows only wisdom to gain
One answer earned
Two questions asked
Proves desire to ascertain
What may feel like wind pulling you back
Digs your feet further into the ground
Ever tear that you feel fall
I promise only marks the sound
The sound of you overcoming obstacles
Dear, slowing down is not a defeat
Because you keep trudging, keep on nudging
Leaving messy footprints in the concrete
