Waiting

 Toxic thoughts arrive uninvited

 Memories of love unrequited

Undecided on what’s there for me, I wonder why you weren’t  there for me

Everyone said, “Tread carefully”,

I was running on ice and never knew I fell in

I thought life treated me nice

I thought twice and again

It was a game I was the pawn

Up of from dusk till dawn,

Waiting, contemplating

Without a yawn,

You grew tired of me

I entered the storm and was struck with lightning

It is lightening to know what was so frightening isn’t real,

And that I was justified in my plight to heal
