Trust lust

Lack of beauty, abundance of lust,
risky relationships she cannot trust.
Runs from herself to hide from her spouse,
looks mighty in theory, in reality mouse.
Attempts to be home when in her own house,
neat in composure from toe up to blouse.
But in her eyes she gives much away, here in body but thoughts make her pay.
Quiver of lip, in a second she fails,
moment of silence and composing entails.
She makes each day a balancing act,
to make up for the judgement she one time lacked.
Cover her bruises, believe this time to be it,
the day she walks out, her mind lets her quit.
But knowing this she simply can't do,
she walks out to her man, the rising sun as the view.
Hands over the drink she mixed on her own,
he drinks steady, and always alone.
Head back to the kitchen her duty complete, be invisible as dirt, under his feet.
