Superstar

Young boy walks home from school,

It’s been a long day,

The other kids can be so mean,

He just wants to feel okay,

Young boy is so tired inside,

So he puts on a mask to hide,

The fact that every night he cries,

Never goes a day with dry eyes,

He feels like he’s worthless,

Like no one would notice,

If he just slipped away,

No one care would they?

But that’s not true,

I know you,

Honey you’re a superstar,

You’ll go so very far,

Just please,

Look at me,

And say,

That you’ll stay,

Young boy walks home school,

He couldn’t take it anymore,

He got home,

Locked the door,

Grabbed the kitchen knife,

And took his own life,

At the funeral everyone showed,

If only he could know,

That his mother never stopped the tears,

Losing her son was her biggest fear,

His father blamed himself,

Forgiveness was never something he felt,

Honey you were a superstar,

You could have gone so very far,

I was begging you please,

But you wouldn’t look at me,

And say,

That you’d stay,
