Sonnet 56

i once met a goddess on a lonely road

Knots of gold adorning her crown

shining jewels as green as a toad

Diverted all the way down

roses flourished in her cheeks

As she continued to stare

the flowers would grow for endless weeks

Flaming torches lit by a flare

and yet she changed like the seasons

Fading in a myriad of shades

from a red waterfall poured all reasons

Reasons as petty as a new maid

by'r lakin! Was this nymph but a dream?

Fair lads heed mine warning; a pretty face is not all it seems.
