She

I haven’t told my family and friends about these feelings,

How I find girls more appealing.

I wish I was freewheeling

Because my heart is what she’s stealing.

My heart pounds when she’s near.

When she’s away, I wish she was here.

I can’t pull myself back into gear,

She pulls my strings like a puppeteer.

It’s sad she doesn’t know I exist

As she checks boys off of her list.

I’m so entranced I need an assist.

I wish my feelings could be dismissed.

Life is hard as a LGBT youth

When people tell you it’s an act uncouth

But she makes me not care about the false-truth.

I feel like Bob Dylan in Duluth.
