Salvation
She never liked the way her clothes fit on top of the skin that also never fit quite right. Her hands had always held things too tight and her feet could never run fast enough. She was either too much or too little for a demanding world. Chasing dreams and feeding fears became acquaintances as her fragile heart was pushed to the limit. The day love had won her heart with the greatest story ever told, was the day a soul collision shook the earth. When love arrived, it's face looked a little funny and it's hands felt an unlikely warm. Nobody warned her of the world’s impatient demand of a heart and hers was at the center of a tug-of-war game. Two sides with such force but only one could move the mountain. As hands were raised to the sky and knees were placed on the ground, her soul become the treasure of a loving king, her heart became the victory of a mighty warrior. She never gave much thought to eternity but when she met the eyes of heaven, home didn't seem so far. Those fragile hands started to clench into fists as she chose to fight back, those shy eyes began to look for more as she chose to seek Him. Whispered words at an altar became the shouts of her nation as her world was set on fire. From the depths of depression, a remarkable creation rose up. From the ashes of defeat, a beautiful flower grew in the garden. From the melancholy song of a coward, a renewed spirit birthed a joyful melody. When she was young, she walked through the hallways with heavy shoulders and a weak heart as a mental illness captivated her mind. The silence of her desperate smile fooled even the richest of intelligence. As she shook hands with anxiety and had sleepovers with depression, she began to feel like life was something to be shackled to. But a girl born with heaven hands should've known no earthly illness could ever hold her down. When the girl began to grow up fighting a battle she thought was against herself, she met the God that proved her wrong. She surrendered the war to His hands and chose to love the one who first loved her. God held her trembling hands in his strength, He rejuvenated a broken heart, and took her illness and threw it in the rubble of a battle that had already been won. Salvation isn't a remedy, it is a cure. Salvation isn't a crutch, it's a healing. Salvation isn't a round trip flight to a vacation, it's a one way ticket to eternity. Salvation chose her before she ever needed it, it loved her before she ever thought she was worthy of love. When she gave her life to God, once chained doors were broken down and a once shackled soul breathed new life. And the girl who stood before life in cowardice, stands before the world today with the love of her Father and the strength of her King.
