Problems

Everyday there are obstacles in my path
So many in fact, it's hard to do the math!
They vary in size, from big to small
These problems seem to take precedence over all.

However once in a while, I take a step back
To shine a light on the pitch black
Of the problems that go unrecognized everyday
Most of which reside in the morally gray.

Problems like rape and marijuana legalization (sub: Abortion)
Gun contorl to child predation
All these issues make me think twice
About the trivial things in my daily life.

It's these moments of realization
I see that I live to fix the summation
Of all the problems that plague our lives
Whether they come in twos, threes, or fives

However these moments do not last
I return to the selfish worries of the past
It's these times of recognition
The make me tick and shape my mission
