Pollution

I am only overwhelmed with pure joy;

It is when I take in that sweet fresh air.

The smell of rain lingers as a decoy,

It's a distraction to the lack of care.

To my curiosity I can't help,

What if we someday lose the petrichor?

The black oils only discolor the kelp.

I don't want to lose the green of our floor.

We must treat our earthy surface as gold,

Keep her clean and let her shine, oh so bright.

Dispose of the debris to be controlled.

We must protect her worth, I will recite

I don't want to breath in the toxic smog.

More being wrong, this is just a prologue.
