over a marmot coat

Location

this past weekend

people were skating on bryant park

enjoying a night out

when a 16 year old punk

decides to run up on somebody

and tells him to run your coat

the 20 year old young man saids no

gun pulled out

shots rang

20 year old gets hit in the leg

a 14 year old got shot in the back leaving him paralyze

over what?

a bright orange marmot coat

why? you didn't have the means to buy it

therefore, it's ok to rob someone

guess what

you got caught like an idiot

you fulfill society's stereotype of a young black male

then you smile in front of the cameras as if you were proud

let's see if you still smile once it becomes official

and you are locked up behind bars

you won't be smiling

you'll be crying, begging to go home

sorry homeboy, that's not going to happen

your life is over

there is no life after prison

MVP-Most Valuable Poet

very sad story, but truth

this is why it's important to expose young people to venues that motivate them to not be a statistic

this is why it's important for young people to get support

thank you for comment daileye

My favorite part. A very sad truth that goes on everyday. People need to realize their potential, especially the youth
