Now That Is Awesome

It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, or which of the fifty states you live in, when a tragedy happens, all Americans join hand in hand. I think that is awesome. From alongside the roads leading up to Chattanooga, Tennessee’s The Mass at Holy Cross Church you see the glorious colors red, white and blue, but throughout the nation you see Americans paying their respect to the four marines and one sailor who lost their lives July 16, 2015. I think that is awesome. From an 18 year old boy who was shot by a police in Ferguson, Missouri which brought candle light marches spread throughout the country on August 9, 2014. I think that is awesome. From the mass destruction spread throughout Mississippi and Louisiana in August 2005 from Hurricane Katrina with Americans all over the country sending care packages and opening the doors to their homes to the people who lost their homes. I think that is Awesome. From the collapsing of the Twin Towers, which took the lives of hundreds, there was nothing but silence and prayers throughout all fifty states filled with a whole new sense of pride for America on November 11, 2001. I think that is awesome. From a very brave man named Matthew Shepard being murdered on October 12, 1998 who is now a national hero for gay pride along with the help of Americans everywhere protesting for gay rights. I think that Is Awesome. Through out my 18 years of life I have been able to see all these forms of unity. I have been able to see people put aside their senseless prejudices and come together, showing their support after such horrific events. Now that is Awesome.
