Looking Down to See Above by AM King 1/10/2009

Sun beams drew me to the river’s edge,

Pulled me knee deep in a mound of sedge.

Light’s encompassing aura of gold,

Took a grip on me with a bold hold.

Looking down to see what was above,

The sky and river fit glove to glove.

Perfect dark reflected , perfect light.

Even small details like birds in flight.

Details  showed of passing twisting  cloud,

Blue and down by heaven’s dome enshroud.

Tall strong branches weaving towards the sky,

Mirror a rug ,of light no one can pry.

Look down and pray to see what is above.

At your feet, a branch with a resting dove.
