in support of them

  ask and honor their response

Compromise on choice
Rejoice in your differences and sameness
Do not aim to harm
Aim to achieve, together  

 If your partner asks why you do, what you do,tell them the truth:
Because I love you, I value you, I want you to know you are  wanted.
