How Dare You.

Location

To the "dear" Mrs. Langerman.

How dare you take advantage of a young child.

She was innocent, sweet and mild.

Just because of her race you stood there

Discriminating and staring with that dark stare.

I knew not what I did wrong,

But now I am Strong.

How dare you use racism

To a child who knew only some.

Because of you I came home blameful

Asking  "Mom, what is wrong with black people" tearful.

You told me there was something not right,

Black people were not too bright.

How dare you always put me away

For time out in the hallway.

I always saw another Mexican boy, too.

But he was used to your ugly virtue.

You should see where I am today,

I'm succeeding everyday.

Even though you tried to hurt me,

I hope that your life isn't misery.

I don't know your reasons nor your ways

But I hope that you're doing good anyways.

The Frozen Arsonist

If this is written from personal experience, as I'm assuming, I am sorry that you were treated this way. It's great, though, that you can transcribe hurt into a lovely piece of work. Keep up the great work!
