The Heart That Didn't Bloom

Many a sparrow sounds the alarm for a new dawn
Many an eye opens, then close in irritation
Refusing to appreciate the song of the morning
Many a flower blooms; the evaporating dew
Creates an aroma; a natural perfume
That the world wears until man’s eyelid finally wakes
And gasoline intrudes the sweet scents: it makes seldom sense
Why man lives to gain cents
When the beauties of life are free?
But many a mini miracle goes unseen
Like the beautiful moment when nature’s scene
Unfolds in the spring, and so does the heart
You momentarily forget your cares
And remember what matters
For a miracle unseen is a heart unmoved.
