Gone Before She Began

Location

Just one quick motion,

One quick slit down the wrist.

That’s all she needed to ease her pain

She never considered how others felt

How I felt

I thought that I could light the darkness that grew in her heart

Obviously it wasn’t bright enough

Her smile was something rare, but something I always looked forward to seeing

Her smile is just a memory now

Her existence is just a memory

A memory that fills my head, my every being

Until it pours into and out of my aching heart

Just one quick motion, just a slit down the wrist

Gone before she even began.
