Dear Santa,

I’m torn to pieces by the fact I don’t believe in you anymore,

And that some people never did to begin with.

You’re “just a fallacy,” they say,

But even if you were, it was the sweetest lie I’ll ever hear.

Christmas spirit dies with time,

As we grow up, we worry less about baking cookies for you

To try to find some way to keep ourselves together.

If you could make one more miracle for the child I’m sure I’ve harbored somewhere,

Please make me believe in Christmas again.

That’s all I need this year.
