"What do you want to be?"

I hate that overrated question

With the inevitable answer.

Because, who knows?

I could explain to them what I want to do.

I could explain how I wish to grow the imagination in the minds of all;

I want to spread creativity and show it through images and words;

I strive to catch the eye in newer ways;

I long for everyone to grasp ideas in their minds and let them grow;

I want to be an influence of creativity and imagination

And I want to show it newer ways.

There isn't actually such a thing as growing out of your imagination;

And I want everyone to realize that...

And when I give that answer, they would give a half smile

And they would slowly nod

And say something like, "Neat."

They would think to themselves that I should reconsider my future.

They would think that I wasn't realistic.

They would think that if I wasn't going to be a lawyer or a doctor or an engineer,

I wasn't going anywhere.

When I become what I long to be,

When I reach that goal,

Their minds will be changed.
