Encouraging Suicide

Location

Standing in the cold silence

Waiting for you, for you are violence.

You sit there watching her with those evil eyes,

And somehow you caught her in surprise.

Everyday she's beaten and scarred,

She's still waiting for you to be put behind bars.

It's funny how you think you're so tough,

And everyone here has had enough.

You're alive in the night,

She's dead in the fight.

She doesn't really have a choice,

Nobody seems to hear her voice.

Tonight under the oak tree you'll find,

A body looking peaceful and kind.

But this body won't be sleeping there,

It will be hanging in mid-air.

Whose face is this you may ask,

Just look closely, no need to unmask.

The beautiful face hanging from a limb,

You know this girl's light is now dim.

Look what you've encouraged this child to do,

Look what you've led this young girl to.

In this way she did not have to die,

If it weren't for you, she'd still be alive.

Wow. This poem was amazing. I love how you created a beutiful but terrifing story. I have to say one of my favorite songs is cast from perfection by chelsea grin, and your poem is similar to the story being told by the song. But your story goes more in depth and shows a much wider story of the effect the abuse had on her. I just fell in love with your poem.
