Ego For Thought
Why are we people subservient to the self-servient nature in us?
We need to set our minds on each other and fill our hearts with trust
So that we can maintain our grassy plains,
Cultivate creativity,
Excite our brains with empathy,
And embrace our immortality through the impact of our actions.
Let's let go of the factions we adhere to out of fear,
Doing the future generations a favor by allowing them
A chance to savor the fruits of our actions,
The sweet fruits of our interactions,
Suturing the wounds of strife started out of delusions
From the spoon-fed, thorough-bred monster that is
Our ego.
Newton said, "With every action, there is a reaction that is equal."
So don't you think that if we're capable of so much evil
That we can transcend our negativity like, from its nest, a bald eagle?
Belief systems aka relief systems or, if chosen incorrectly,
"I'm-always-a-victim" system.
The way to know which are right or wrong is through introspection.
Mythologies employ symbols that differ based on the
Geography from which they first occurred.
The different symbols represent sort of similar concepts:
Heaven and Nirvana, Samsara caused by bad karma, dharma and God's Will,
And hell by finding sin a place to dwell in.
Introspection, or self-reflection, allows us to see the direction our
B.S. (belief system) is taking us.
If it smells bad, our bodies are first to know,
And that may be a sign that's time to let it go.
Racism, violence, terrorism, belligerence
Do you see how our B.S. can make us act like irrational animals?
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee burning in the pot
And start serving yourselves syrup and "ego" waffles for thought!
