DEAR BABY

i know you're just a girl but still i feel like you put me through the wringer, twisted up my body till i was nothing but wet eyes. dear baby, dear, baby, i want nothing more than to be left alone. i can hear you picking at the pieces of my body that keep me looking like a girl,  my too-long hair, my thick hips, my bruised ankles that i got from running on a dirt road that i thought might lead back to you. dear baby, are you listening? i want nothing more than to be left in the dark, entirely untouched, something you didn't darken by trying to kiss.  dear baby, i'll use your name next time, and lick a bitter stamp.   LOVE, GIRL
