The Children of Africa

Can you see them?
The ones hurting
Crying
Dying
I can

You go on with life
As if nothing’s wrong
Everything’s perfect
But I know you hear them

Crying out for a meal
Stomachs growling
Death prowling
Waiting to pounce and take them away

They want to cry for help
But don’t know how
Would you even stop to listen?
Or keep going and push them away?

Others devote their lives to helping them
Can’t you sacrifice a little?
Don’t you care at all?
They need you
Why won’t you help?
Why?
